VBAC restrictions, my butt

OK, listen up, ladies: you have control over your bodies. There may be hospitals in this country that say they won't permit a VBAC under certain conditions, but it's all talk-- misleading, unethical talk.

Here's the deal:

1) Federal law-- the Federal Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act-- requires hospitals to admit actively laboring women.

2) No one can perform surgery on you without your consent.

They may try real hard to persuade you, they may even use unethical and coercive tactics-- but ultimately it's still your body, your baby, your decision.

"I found out I could refuse."
